Eli Marville Mayes, 87, passed away at the North Big Horn Hospital on August 8, 1972. He was born December 11, 1884 in Goin, Claiborne County, Tennessee, the son of James K. Polk Mayes and Elizabeth Dunn Mayes. He married Ella Bostic on December 30, 1908 in Maynardsville, Tennessee. He lived in Deerlodge, Montana from 1935 until 1946 when he come to Lovell and has resided in Lovell since.
He is a member of the L.D.S. Church.
Eli is survived by 5 sons, Leck Mayes of Cody, WY, James E Mayes of Lovell, Denver Mayes of Lovell, Deloy Mayes of Lovell, and Onder Mayes of Butte, Montana; five daughters, Virgie Mae Collins of Lovell, Birtie England of Tazewell, TN, Rutha Cox of New Tazewell, TN, Retha Simmons of Rutherfordton, NC, and Girtha Graves of Lovell; 54 Grandchildren, 66 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.
