Mrs. Thompson was born in Dyer County, Tenn., July 29, 1886, the daughter of Hugh and Martha Turnbow and the family moved to Cottonwood Point when she was six years old. In 1908 at Cottonwood she was married to Robert Bailey, who preceded her in death in 1917.
On March 3, 1921, at Tyler, she was married to William Jobe Thompson. They moved here about a year ago from Michigan, when Mr. Thompson retired. She was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church.
She leaves her husband, W.J. Thompson of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Abbott of Caruthersville, Mrs. Mildred Brannum of Poplar Bluff and Mrs. Ruth Thompson of Hayti; two brothers, Joe Turnbow of Caruthersville and Fred Turnbow of Cottonwood; eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
