STATESBORO-Mrs. Wilma Ellis Davis, age 87, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility after a short illness.
She was a Bulloch County native and the daughter of the late Ben and Sarah Pennington Ellis. She was a retired business owner, having owned and operated a mobile home park in Wilmington, N.C., for many years. She returned from North Carolina in 2000, living in Hopeulikit, her childhood home. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her late husband, Jimmy Davis; brothers, Richard Ellis and Ben Wesley "Jimbo" Ellis; her sisters, Mildred Ellis Chester, Ulma Ellis Hodges and Helen Ellis Hayslip.
She was blessed with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She has three daughters, Sarah Ruth Dickerson Kitchings, and husband Reggie Kitchings, of Rincon; Virginia Dickerson Nease of Portal; and Marsha West Vohringer and husband, Delbert of Port Wentworth.
Sarah's family includes: sons, Tommy Kitchings and wife Cheryl of Rincon; Johnny Kitchings of Portal and Jimmy Kitchings of Rincon and Portal; Tommy and Cheryl's children, Christine, Michelle, Cole, Bridget and Shelby; Johnny's daughter, Sarah Cox Kitchings; Jimmy's daughter Kaylee McMillan and husband Tim and daughter, Sydney.
Virginia's family, daughter, Deanie Nease White, and husband, William, of Rincon; their daughter, Jessica Giordano, and husband, Tom; and daughters, McKayla and Ansleigh, all of Guyton.
Also Virginia's son, Daniel, and wife, Amanda; children, Courtney, Ryan and Matthew Nease, all of Guyton. Marsha's family includes sons, Nicky Brown of Augusta and Shawn Brown and wife, Shelly; their daughters Presley and Ella of Meldrim; her daughter, Rebecca Vohringer of Port Wentworth
She is also survived by her brothers, John Paul and Beatrice Ellis and Lannie and LaVaughn Ellis; numerous nieces and nephews and her much loved kitty, Lucy.
The visitation was held June 28 at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mrs. Davis was held on June 29 at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Osborne and the Rev. James Barnes officiating.
The body lay in state for one hour prior to service.
Burial was in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Kenny Ellis, Wesley Ellis, Grayson Ellis, John Wendell Ellis, Adrian Chester and Johnny Hodges.

Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
