Benjaman H. Barker, who had been in poor health for several years, died at his home, three miles northeast of Wilder, Friday. He is survived by a wife, three sons and a daughter. Funeral services were held Sunday forenoon at 11 o'clock at the Methodist church.
"The Caldwell Tribune", Idaho, Sept 23, 1921: Friday, September 16th, the "Grim Reaper" called one of our pioneer residents, Benjamin Barker. He had been ill for a long time and death came as a release from his suffering. He came to Idaho thirteen years ago and took as a homestead the ranch where he was living when he died. In the living room of his home the first Methodist Sunday school of Wilder was organized. He and his wife had been charter members of three churches. He leaves behind him one daughter and four sons besides his widow. One son is living at home, one in Oregon and three in the east. The daughter is living in Star. All of his children except one son were with him when the end came. The funeral was held from the Methodist church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. Frank Vernon, of Eagle, a former pastor, conducting the service. The remains were laid to rest in the Wilder cemetery.
