Funeral services for E. R. Spikes, 72, a life-long resident of Winn Parish, were held at Sardis at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, with the Rev. F. M. Shows officiating. Burial was held in the Sardis Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Mr. Spikes died at his home on Route 2, Winnfield, after a long illness, on Friday, November 28.
He was born in Winn [sic Grant] Parish on June 3, 1875, and had lived in this vicinity all of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Surviving is one son, E. L. Spikes of Route 2 Winnfield.
Pallbearers were great nephews of the deceased.
