John Lawrence Hardy, the son of John and Mary Margaret (Moraleda) Hardy, was born March 25, 1941 in Tarkio, Missouri. He attended Tarkio country school, graduating from Tarkio High School in 1959. On June 10, 1961, John was united in marriage to Judith Ann Lossman. They lived their entire married life in Tarkio where they reared their three daughters. In his youth, John and his family lived a short while in California while his Dad worked the oil fields. Upon their return, they began farming which became the focus of John's life. He farmed with his father until his passing in 1973. John continued farming on his own until 1976, when he and Judy moved into Tarkio. He was then employed by Manley Popcorn for two years, and soon after for the Eaton Corporation, where he retired in 2002 after 24 years. During the1980's, he also volunteered for the Atchison Holt Ambulance Service. Upon his retirement he began working for the OATS organization driving the OATS bus. He was a member of the United Methodist Church where he was currently serving on the Pastor Parrish Committee. John passed away January 13, 2008 at Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri at the age of 66 years. Besides his parents, John is preceded in death by one brother-in-law Wayne Lossman. John is survived by his wife Judy Hardy, of the home; three daughters, Mary Ann Hull and her husband, Bill, Teresa Shaw and her husband Mike, and Barbie Lee and her husband Bill, all of Tarkio; five grandchildren, Krystal, Keaton, Connor, Megan and Brooke; one great grandchild, Cole; three sisters, Ruth Richards and her husband John, Coon Rapids, Iowa, Margaret Lakes, Jane Lutz and her husband, Butch, both of Rock Port, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews. Services: Thursday, January 17, 2008, 10:30 am, United Methodist Church, Tarkio. Family Visitation: Wednesday, January 16, 2008, 7:00 - 8:00 pm, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
