David Reyna Becerra, 72, of Waco, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Old Perry Cemetery near Moody with the Rev. Ronnie Holmes officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home.
David was born in Moody, Texas, to the late Jose T. Becerra and Maria Reyna Becerra. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by a sister; and four brothers.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Lee Becerra and wife, Ginger; daughter, Marlana Nicole Salinas and husband, Chris; five grandsons; a granddaughter; brother, Roman Becerra, of Waco; sisters, Emilia Gonzales, Noemi Ruiz, Eloisa Ochoa and Blanca Salas, all of Waco, and Ruth Sustaita, of Gilroy, Calif.; many nieces and nephews, who love him dearly; and long time friend, Linda T. Fraga, of Dallas.
