Faye Mary Judd Woods Hoyal passed away on May 30, 2005, at the Gardens Assisted Living Center, Ogden, Utah following an extended illness. She was born on March 14, 1923, in the family home at Ogden, Weber County, Utah. She was the fourth of six children born to Herschel and Myrtle Stephens Judd.
She married Harold Pratt Woods on April 8, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her husband Harold Pratt Woods passed away from an extended illness during July, 1957. Three children were born of the marriage with Harold Pratt Woods, Sue M. (Paul) Larsen, Tremonton, UT; Shelley K. (Michael) Stark, Boiling Springs, SC; Thomas H. (Shawna) Woods, Phoenix, AZ.
She married Norman S. Hoyal, during November, 1958, in the Logan LDS Temple. Norman S. Hoyal brought three children to the family through marriage of a former spouse that likewise passed away in 1957, Harold N. (Barbara) Hoyal, Orem, UT; Kenneth (Diane) Hoyal, Ogden; and Janet (Robert) Brian, Taylor, UT.
She was raised in the Ogden area and attended Ogden City Schools. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1941 and Weber State University in 1980. She worked 33 years for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company and 13 years for the Ogden School District.
She was an accomplished seamstress, poet and gardener. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and always referenced her family associations and a her pioneer ancestry.
She is survived by three siblings Beth (Marvin) Felt, Ogden; Everett (Reba) Judd, Ogden; and Glenn Judd, St. George, UT. Preceding her in death was one sister Katherine Olsen Dillman; one brother Douglas Judd; one granddaughter Jo Marie Snyder; and one grandson Shaun Dee Snyder. She has 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family extends special appreciation to personnel of the Gardens Assisted Living Center and medical practitioners for meaningful assistance during past years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lorin Farr 8th Ward, 1608 13th St., Ogden, with Bishop Evan Alleman officiating.
Friends may call at the Larkin & Sons Mortuary, 496 24th St., Ogden, Friday from 6 to 8 PM and at the ward Saturday, from 10 to 10:45 AM.
