Joe Kest was the eldest son of Harold & Edith Kest. He married Virginia K. Friend on September 11,1938. They were married 62 years prior to his death. He had three sons (Joseph H. Jr, William H. and James R.) Joe was a graduate of the University of Detroit and was their starting 3rd baseman for several years. Joe also started the St.Jude Knights of Columbus council in Toledo and was it's Grand Knight for the Council's first two years. Joe had a sucessful career in business prior to retiring at the age of 65. After his retirement, he moved to Venice, Florida where he could play golf anytime he wanted. He lived in Venice for remainder of his life. He was a great Husband and Father. He loved his family more than anyone I have ever known.
