TUBERCULOSIS FATAL TO AGED RESIDENT
Sherman Conley, 83, died at 6:15 p. m., Thursday, June 2, in a hospital in Lexington, of tuberculosis, after an illness of 6 1/2 years. Mr. Conley, the son of Jefferson and Lorraine Auxier Conley, was born October 12, 1865, at East Point, KY. His occupation was that of merchant and farmer, and he was postmaster at Hager Hill for 18 years. He was a member of the United Baptist Church and was affiliated with the F. and A. M. Lodge No. 657 at East Point, KY. He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Jane Price Conley on December 10, 1943. Surviving are one daughter and one son, Mrs. Laura Fairchild, Lowmansville, and Everett T. Conley, Hager Hill. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Alice Burke, Lancer, KY. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, June 5, at 2:30 p. m., at the home of his son at Hager Hill, by the Revs. M. Wiley and John D. Music. Masonic services were held at the grave in Hager Hill Cemetery by members of his lodge. Burial was under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday 6-9-1949
