Amsterdam Evening Recorder, Friday, October 9, 1936 ~ William J. Monk ~ William J. Monk, 38, died Wednesday afternoon at the Bush Convalescent Home, Amsterdam. He was born July 6, 1898, in the town of Johnstown, a son of William Monk and Emma Snell. The survivors are his wife, the former Reba Stafford, his mother, Mrs. William (Emma Snell) Monk, Randall, three brothers, Harold Monk, Randall, Clyde Monk and Raymond Monk, Johnstown. Private funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the brother, Harold, Randall. The Rev. C. R. Hamilton of the Fort Plain Baptist Church will officiate and interment will be made in the Rockwood Cemetery.
