Dowayne Percival Humphreys was the son of Jesse and Margaret Elmina Graham Humphreys. He was born in Millville and attended school here. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

On October 31, 1927, he married Ivy Femetta Burrows Johnson at Los Angeles, California. Ivy was the daughter of William Burrows and Sarah Hemingway, she was born at Logan, Utah, on July 31, 1902. Her father died when she was young, and she was raised by the Blacker family in Star Valley, Wyoming.

Ivy married Issac Martin Johnson at Twin Falls, Idaho; and they had one daughter, Betty Lou, before his death.

Dowayne and Ivy spent their married life in Millville.

Dowayne hauled rock from the Providence Quarry for the Logan Sugar Factory. He was later a Civil Service Employee. Dowayne took great pride in his yard and garden.

They both held positions in the LDS Church, and they enjoyed Temple work in their later years.

They celebrated their Golden Wed­ding in 1977.

Their children are: Betty Lou Johnson (Anthon Jenson), Joy Devene (Jack Littlefield) and Kaylene (Thomas Dickey).
