JayVanAsbury Nelson was born to BenjaminFranklin and CarolineLouisaKelleyNelson in GilesCountyTennessee. He married MarthaJanePATTIE McCutchen 22April 1901 in that same county. His occupation was that of a RockPicker along the newly built McCutcheon Trace, as well as working 'odd jobs' to support his wife and family, as well as farming... He was the father of Arthur, Clarence, Stella, Pearl, Mackie, Mae and VirginiaNelson and moved from Tennessee to BellCountyTexas around 1902. He is buried in RockHollow cemetery near his daughter StellaTyler, his daughter PearlNorris & Pearl's husband AlbertLeeNorris, and next to his wife, MarthaJanePATTIE McCutchen...In 1918 JayVan made a trip back to his homeland around GilesCounty, Tennessee and apparently contracted the Influenza that was in Full Epidemic those few years...he did return to his home in BellCounty,Texas but never recovered and died....
