Born in Maybanks he had lived in Denver City since 1945 He was married to Heida Dell Feb 6 1947 in Brownfield Baxter was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Survivors include his four daughters Mrs Joyce Marie Pruitt, Delia Kay Taylor, and Freda Leona Baxter and Velma Pearl Little of Belton two sons Henry Augusta Baxter of Lubbock and Robert Lee Baxter of Levelland two sisters Mrs Lucy Sossaman and Mrs Ollie James both of Denver City four brothers of Denver City,Algie Nun,Pete,Luther,Lewis and 13 grandchildren
