Resolution of Respect.
Hall of Hickory Flat Lodge, No. 362, Stroud, Ala., Feb., 1904.
Whereas, God, in his infinite wisdom, as see fit to remove from the scenes of his earthly pilgrimage our brother I. R. Stephens, and Whereas, in so doing our lodge has sustained an irreparable loss, therefore be it, Resolved,
that we recognize the hand of God in this affliction, believing that he doeth all things well.
That we acknowledge our love and appreciation of the many noble traits of character of the deceased.
That a copy of these resolutions be spread on our minutes, a copy furnished the widow of the deceased and one for publication in "The LaFayette Sun".

Biographical.
Isaac Richard Castleberry Stephens was born June 9, 1848, and died at Lanett, Ala, Jan. 16, 1904, being at the age of his death 55 years, 7 months, and 9 days old.
In 1867 he was married to Miss Eliza Nolen, with whom he lived happily until her death in 1873. Later he was married to Miss Sarah L. Johnston who still survives him at Lanett, Ala. He was a father of five children, four of whom are living and who are highly respected and worthy descendants of an honorable parentage.
On the first day of November 1873, Mr. Stephens was initiated into the mysteries of Free Masonry; on Nov. 15, he was passed to the more honorable degree of Fellow Craft; and on Dec. 6, of the same year raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. He was loyal to the institution to the day of his death and was loved and respected by his brethren who sincerely mourn his removed from the ranks of masonry.
As a citizen, Mr. Stephens held the highest esteem in the hearts of his friends and neighbors.
