Clay BAGGETT Jr., 73, River Road, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Clarksville Manor Nursing Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home with the Rev. Helen Morgan officiating. Burial will be in Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. He was born Sept. 4, 1927, in Montgomery County, son of Clay BAGGETT Sr. and Maude Underwood BAGGETT. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Pendergrass. Mr. Baggett was retired from Conwood Corp. and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and Over Fifty & Happy Senior Club. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Suiter Baggett; a daughter, Carol Atkins, Hendersonville; a sister, Georgia Ellis, Clarksville; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Lionell Cook, Polk Davis Jr., James Harmon, Robb Johnson, Bobby Morrison, Bill Pendergrass, Harold Thompson and Robert Williams Jr. (Published in The Leaf Chronicle, Clarksville, TN, 3/24/2001)
