Alma Ruth Brown Black 70, of Brickyard Community, died December 9, 1996 at her home in Brickyard Comunity. Ms Black was a homemaker and a member of the Sumatra Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Admiral Dewey Brown, Sr,; two brothers, Admiral Dewey Brown, Jr, and Douglas Brown, a sister, Maxine Vernese Brown. Survivors include her daughter Kathryn Ruth Black Elkins of Tallahassee; her mother, Mrs Etta Brown of Brickyard; and brothers, Benny Brown & R. J. Brown, both of Brickyard, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 12, 1996 in Sumatra Baptist Church with interment at Brown & Smith Cemetery.
