J.D. Bischoff, Lovell, Dies

LOVELL, Wyo. -- Joseph Daniel Bischoff, 72, Lovell rancher for 64 years, died Sunday afternoon in a Lovell hospital following a long illness.

Mr. Bischoff, one of five brothers who operated Bischoff Livestock Co., was born June 24, 1893, at Fountain Green, Utah, a son of Mrs. and Mrs. Nephi Daniel Bischoff. He served two years in World War I.

He married Simone Swain at Billings Dec. 28, 1926. Mr. Bischoff was a member of the American Legion and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Surviving are the widow a son, Joseph Daniel Bischoff Jr.; a daughter, Mabel Ann Bischoff of Lovell; two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Katzenbach of Los Altos, Calif., and Mrs. Ken Baxter of Salt Lake City, Utah, and four brothers, H.D. Bischoff, G.D. Bischoff, R.O. Bischoff, and E.O. Bischoff, all of Lovell.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Lovell LDS Chapel with Bishop Scott Welch officiating. Burial will be in Lovell Cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Big Horn Stake House for Joseph Daniel Bischoff, 72, with Bishop Scott Welch officiating.

Mr. Bischoff, Lovell rancher for 64 years, died Sunday afternoon in North Big Horn hospital following a lengthy illness.

Burial was in the Lovell cemetery with Haskell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
