G.K. "Red" Beatty, 58, of 292 N. Houston Street, died following an illness at 3 a.m. today. in a local hospital. Mr. Beatty had been in business in Palestine since about 1930. He was born in Tyler County.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in Hassell and Foster Chapel with Rev. John Parrot officiating. Burial will be in New Addition Cemetery.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Virginia Beatty of Palestine; five brothers, J.L. Beatty, Jr., of Houston, Dr. W.A. Beatty of Mission, Thomas B. Beatty of Austin, H.A. Beatty of Palestine, Allen Beatty of Houston; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Clark and Mrs. Naomi Meredith, both of Corpus Christi.
