My Great-Great Grandfather. Jackson was the son of Zenas and Rachel Manley. By about 1857 the entire Manley family - Jackson, wife Charlotte and baby daughter Rosetta (1857), as well as his parents and all of his 6 brothers and sisters moved to Monroe County, Wisconsin. There, Jackson and Charlotte had 7 more children: Julia (1858), Emma (1860), George (1866), Harriet (1868), Frank (1871), Cora (1875), and Nellie (1879).

About the time Nellie was born, Jackson and Charlotte separated and eventually divorced. He moved to Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, near brother Henry, where he lived until his death in 1896.

Jackson was a carpenter, mechanic and machinist. He also developed a liniment which was sold throughout the area. He was known for his firm religious faith as well as for honesty. Despite their divorce, Jackson and Charlotte are buried together in Lakeview Cemetery, along with their Granddaughter, Grace.
