Oscar Wade Casteel, 59, retired farmer, who resided on Tompkinsville Rt.1, was found dead by his wife, Mrs. Alberta White Casteel, when she returned from work last Thursday afternoon, September 3,1959. The body was found on the kitchen floor of their home.
A coroner's jury,convened by County Coroner Reed Deckard, returned a verdict of death from a heart attack. It was estimated that Mr. Casteel had been dead three or for hours when his body was found.
He was the son of the late Mr. and Mr. Will Casteel. Besides his wife,he is survived by two sons, Ivan, Kankakee, Ill., and Eugene of Arcola, Ill., Three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Rogers, Arcola, Mrs Nell Turner of Princeton, Ind., and Miss Glenda Casteel of Tompkinsville.
Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Sid Rhoten of Tompkinsville, and two brothers, Lee Casteel of Tompkinsville and Harrison Casteel of Glasgow.
Funeral services were held at Mill Creek, with Rev. Garnet Martin officiating. Burial was in Mill Creek Cemetery, John E. Yokley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
