Iva Gifford Allred, 84, died Monday evening, December 19, 1983 in the North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell after an extended illness. She was born September 10, 1899 in Springdale, Utah, the daughter of Moses Elias Gifford and Arannah Ruth Millett Gifford. She spent her early years in Springdale. She married John Orvel Allred June 1, 1918 in St. George, Utah. They came to Lovell to make their home 50 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mr. Allred died in 1963. They were the parents of eight children of whom one daughter died in infancy. Survivors include: two sons, Garth Allred and Keith Allred both of Lovell, five daughters, Mrs. Jake (Fernith) Adolf and Mrs. Dean (Rebecca) Walker both of Lovell, Mrs. Woody (Wilma) Anderson of Cowley, Mrs. Clarence (Lorna) Hitz of Byron and Mrs. Cecil (Violet) Averett of Granger, Utah, 47 grandchildren, 107 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 22, 1983 at 2:00 p.m. in the Byron L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Robert Hawley officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements. Friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society in her name.
