Richard E. Abbott, 83, died Friday, June 15, 1984 in the North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell after a long illness. He was born August 23, 1900 at Crooked Creek, Wyoming, the son of Richard W. and Vivian Cribbs Abbott. He married Edna Bassett April 18, 1930 in Red Lodge, Montana. He spent four years working in the mines near Helena, Montana. The remainder of his working life was spent on ranches in Montana and Wyoming and for the U.S. Forest Service as a ranch hand.
Survivors include his wife, Edna, of Lovell, one sister, Eula Fleury of Lovell and one brother Charlie (Tuff) Abbott of Bridger, Montana, 3 nephews and 5 nieces.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 20, 1984 at 2:00 p.m. in the Byron L.D.S. Chapel with Bishop Von B. Zeller officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
