GILMER - Services for Mrs. Audrey LaVerne "Peggy" Cook, 83, of Gilmer, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at East Mountain Baptist Church with Bro. Wes Sherman and Bro. Aubrey Pate officiating. Burial will follow in East Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas. Mrs. Cook passed away July 8, 2009, in Longview.
Mrs. Cook was born on February 13, 1926, in Glenwood Community, Upshur County, Texas, to Leonard Dewey Webb and Phillipper Evona Hallonquist Webb. On November 5, 1943, she married Wendell Cook and he passed away on December 1, 1998. Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of East Mountain Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James Allen and Bobbie Cook of Big Sandy, Phillip Michael and Sharon Cook of New York, and Robert Keith and Marilyn Cook of Tomball; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Jean and Lindley Hagler of Sand Hill, and Judy Renee and David Jones of White Oak; eighteen grandchildren; and twenty three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cook was also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Lora Yvonne Cavitt.
Pallbearers are Paul Hagler, Steven Hagler, Eric Hagler, Brandon Cook, Tabitha Cook and Shonuh Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers are Don Huffhines and Wendy Alexander.
