(Briggs) Hanson in Normania Township of Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota. She
was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Lucas Lutheran Church
of Normania Township.
She was united in marriage to Reuben Foss of Clarkfield, Minnesota, and to this
union four children were born. They resided in the Clarkfield and Granite Falls
area. Reuben passed away in March of 1950.
Mary continued to live at Granite Falls until her marriage on November 13, 1954,
to George Gautefall of Hazel Run, Minnesota. They spent their years together at
Hazel Run, Minnesota.
Mary had been in ill health for some time and was taken to the Granite Falls
Hospital where she suffered a fatal heart attack on November 23, 1972, at the
age of 73 years.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, George of Hazel Run; two daughters:
Rosellz (Mrs. Clarence Brettin), and Darlene (Mrs. Joe Reltig); three sisters:
Ella (Mrs. Phileman Anderson), Mabel (Mrs. John Skogen), and Elva (Mrs. Clarence
Hoiland); and one brother, Roger. She also leaves to mourn her passing eleven
grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her two sons, Harvey and Harley Foss; her parents;
four brothers: Olaf, Clarence, Ancel and Walter.
