Inga Julia Gautefall, daughter of Lars and Sophia (Haugen) Gautefall, was born
on November 17, 1896, in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota.
Inga was born and raised on the family homestead west of Hanley Falls. Following
the death of her parents, she assumed the responsibility of maintaining a home
for her brothers who were engaged in farming. She also received Myron Anderson
into her home upon the death of his parents, and raised him from childhood.
During the past few years, she was hospitalized several times with a heart
ailment. On the morning of August 7, 1968, upon her return from a visit to the
village of Hanley Falls, she suddenly passed from this life, at the age of 71
years.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Susie.
She is survived by her three brothers: Ole, Lewis and George; and her three
sisters: Mrs. Milla Kjelleberg, Mrs. Thea Gilbertson, and Mrs. Clara Berre.
