"Fort Gratiot - Frederick F. Abdoo, 72, of Fort Gratiot, formerly of the Redford area, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, in Marian Manor after a long illness. He was born Oct. 9, 1927, in Detroit, and had lived here permanently the last 10 years. He married Mary S. Daas on Oct. 11, 1953, in Detroit. She died Nov. 23, 1999.

Mr. Abdoo served with the Army in Korea during the Korean conflict. He was employed with Mich Con (Michigan Consolidated Gas) for more than 35 years, retiring as manager of investigations and claims. He was a member of the St. Mary Parish and a past member of Black River Country Club. He was an avid card player and bowler and bowled a 300 game during his career. He loved Lake Huron. enjoyed boating and water sports and found great joy in teaching the South Locustwood youngsters how to ski.

He is survived by a son, Dan D. Abdoo of Dallas; a daughter, Terese A. (Larry) Utting of Westland; his sisters Kay (Joe) Nader of Troy and Jeanie David of Redford; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces, greatnephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Abraham, and his brothers, Sam, Elmer, Dave. Dick and Joe Abdoo.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rev. Stanley A. Wyczawaski will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today.
