Services for Charles Ferguson Baker, 87, of Temple and formerly of Holland will be Monday at 10 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with Rev Albert Snyder officiating. He died July 26 at his home. Baker was born in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Barney and Bertha Ferguson Baker. He married Genevieve Collins on June 6, 1942 in San Antonio. He served in the US Army, was lieutenant colonel in the Texas National Guard, and worked as a vocational agriculture teacher at Holland High School prior to his retirement in 1975. He was 16-year resident of the Meridian Retirement Community and a member of the Holland Lions Club. Survivors are a son, Everett Baker of Houston; two daughters, Carol Solomon of Dallas, and Genevieve Shockley of Round Rock; his sister, Beverley Thomas of Weatherford; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
