OBITUARY:
Lucina Emma Oestmann, daughter of John and Emma Stutheit Oestmann, was born southwest of Auburn on April 13, 1920. She was one of two children.
Lucina grew up on her parents farm near Hickory Grove church. In the fall of 1950, she, together with her mother and sister, moved to Auburn, Where she was to live the rest of her life.
Lucina was baptized and confirmed at St.Paul Hickory Grove Lutheran Church and remained an active member of Hickory Grove her entire life. She was a charter member and treasurer of Priscilla Circle. taught Sunday School for 18 years, and was serving as Sunday school superintendent at the time of her passing.
Lucina attended Hickory Grove rural school. She worked as a dental assistant for a number of years and later ws employed at Triangle Pacific, retiring in 1986.
She became ill, was admitted to the Nemaha County Hospital on the morning of Dec. 29, 1989, and transferred to Clarkson Hsopital later that day. It was there that she died on Dec. 29.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Walter Heidzig of Auburn, NE.; three nephews, Kenneth Heidzig of Auburn, Thomas Heidzig of Johnson, Ne. and Ronald Heidzig of Loveland, CO.; five grand-nieces, and many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2, 1990 at Hickory Grove church, conducted by Rev. Stephen Nierman.
Pallbearers were Jim Steffens, Dennis Eggers, Dale Michel, Allyn Remmers, Lavern Michel and Dick Alden.
Mrs. Jim Gerking was organist and Mrs. Jim Steffens, soloist.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
