Hester Ann Wilcox Passes Away After Long Life in This City – Had Eight Children and Many Friends
Hester Ann Wilcox, widow of Isaac N. Wilcox died at her home in Hudson street this morning aged 75.
She was born July 2nd, 1827 in the town of Richland, Genesee county, but removed to this city when she was a young woman and married here. Eight children survive her. They are John D. Wilcox and Isaac E. Wilcox of this city, Samuel B. Wilcox of Binghamton, Richard B. Wilcox of Syracuse, Mrs. J.D. Freer of Aurora Ill., Mrs. Anna [Alexander]Onan of Rochester, Mrs. Edith M. Kerr of Indianapolis and Mrs. Joseph W. Hughes of this city.
Mrs. Wilcox was of quiet disposition and by gentleness made many friends who with her children were most devoted to her.
