Funeral services for Frank P.Diller, who died suddenly Monday afternoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as he was en route home from an International convention of Rotary clubs at Rio de Janeiro, will be held Sunday morning at 11:00 at the McComb Methodist Church, with Rev. C.E. Jeffers in charge.
Death, which was due to a heart attack, struck as Mr. Diller was seated at a desk in his room at the Condado Beach hotel, writing to his son, Eugene Diller. Just a short time before, he had completed a 14-hour airplane flight on his way home from South America.
Mr. Diller, who was a delegate from the McComb club to the convention, had attended several previous Rotary International conventions in this country and in Europe.
He and his brother, Menno Diller, started a furniture business here in 1908. He later bought his brother's interest and continued in the business until he retired from active work in 1944. His store had become one of the well-known furniture stores in this vicinity.
A son of Benjamin and Barbara (Steiner) Diller, he was born Nov. 5, 1875, in Bluffton. On June 10, 1909, he married Pearl Perry, who died last December 5.
Two sons, Eugene Diller, McComb, and Wade Diller, Toledo, and a daughter, Mrs. Winifred Bricker of McComb, survive. Also surviving are four sisters, Miss Susan Diller, Bluffton; Miss Barbara Diller, Toledo; Mrs. Vance Bayless, Bradenton, Fla.; and Mrs. Menno Augsberger, Bluffton; and one brother, Menno Diller, Toledo.
Mr. Diller attended Bluffton College, Ohio Northern University, and Oberlin College. He was a member of the McComb Rotary Club and the McComb Methodist Church.
