During the holidays, the children were all at home on a visit. The father was reasonably well at that time and enjoyed so much to have all at home under the old roof tree. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Hall hardly had they returned to their home when the message was sent, "Father is ill, come at once." The children were all enabled to be present during his sickness which lasted only 1 week and all that loving hands of wife and children could do was done to ease the pain and comfort him who was so soon to be taken away.
Mr. Beaumont was converted at the age of 18 years in Primitive M. E. church in Lafayette County, Wisconsin, and later came to Adams County, Iowa in April 1871, uniting with the M. E. Church in Corning, and about ten years ago became a member of the Christian Church in Fairview, Taylor County, Iowa.
Mr. Beaumont was always concerned about the church being visible in the faithfulness and attendance of the work of the Lord as he was able and when the time of departure came, he passed peacefully away. In life he loved the Bible and often was he heard to say, "In God do I put my trust."
Funeral service was held in Fairview Christian Church and preached by Rev. Ida Menagh, a former pastor, the remains were laid away in Prairie Rose Cemetery.
