The son of James and Hattie Ballard, he was born at Manila, Ark. on January 1, 1916 and died at the City Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, May 21. He moved from Cottonwood Point to St. Louis 19 years ago and at the time of his death was manager of a laundromat there.
In St. Louis, in 1950, he was married to Bernice Long, who preceded him in death in 1954.
Survivors include a brother, Burley Ballard of Caraway, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. Tom Payne of this city; two step-brothers and a step-sister, Tom and Curtis Miller of Benton Harbor and Mrs. Lois Miller of Tyler, Texas.
