Willis E. "Bill" Atkinson Lansing June 10, 1917 - July 5, 2009 Bill was born in Alma to James E. and Cora B. Atkinson. He graduated from Lansing Eastern in 1937 and joined the Michigan National Guard, where he served until March 1939. Bill was an active Moose and Eagles member and an avid bowler and golfer. He had retired from GM after 30 plus years of service. Bill was preceded in death by his grandson, Mike, 3 wives, Lillian, Leone and Pat; and brother, Bob. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, at noon at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Alma. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday 1-hour prior to the service.
