Fessenden, Clifford "Whitey", 93, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001 at Heartland Health Care Center in Whitehall. He was born Oct. 3, 1907 in Ferry Township, the son of Emond and Medora (Frees) Fessenden. He was married to Sylvia (Eitniear) Aug. 6, 1930. She passed away in 1966. He married Irene (Slater) June 13, 1967. She passed away in 1997. Mr. Fessenden was a farmer for many years. He also worked at Stokelys and Gerber Products. He moved to Whitehall in 1967 following his marriage to Irene and was employed by the Wash King Laundromat in Whitehall for 25 years. He had been affiliated with the White Lake Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his children, Curtis (Mildred) Fessenden of Shelby, Fern Huizenga of Hart, Dale (Roberta) Fessenden of Hesperia, Ruby (Gene) Ewers of Casselberry, Fla., Carol (Bill) Nuzzi of Manitowoc, Wis., and Wayne (Annette) Fessenden of Hesperia; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Phil and a step-son, Elmer Slater; brothers, Clarence, Fred, and Niles Fessenden; and sisters, Elsie Bearss, Alice Skinner, Lula and Laura Eitniear. Funeral services Wednesday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m. at Cooper-Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Hinterman officiating. Interment in Ferry Township Cemetery.
