A Mass of Christian Burial was held in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Leona "Pony" McClelland, 97, who passed away on May 11, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Pony, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Leon Chachere and the former Carmen DeJean, both of St. Landry Parish.
Pony will always be remembered as being a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a dear friend to all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by one daughter, one granddaughter, one grandson, two great-grandsons, one nephew, two nieces and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert H. McClelland; her infant son; and her great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Viator.
