WESTFIELD, NC (Collinstown Community) ~ Mr. James Alvin Hill, 57, of Rt. 3, Stuart, Va., passed away early Thursday morning after a long illness at the Patrick Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Hill was born in Stokes County to Dolphus and Jennie Smith Hill, was a veteran of World War II and was a retired farmer.
Surviving is his wife, Virginia Gray Hill; two daughters, Renae and Tammy Hill, both of the home; three sons: Roger Dale and Jerry Lee Hill, both of Westfield, James Michael Hill of Stuart, Va.; six grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Edgar Jefferson and Mrs. Harry (Josephine) Collins, of Rt. 3, Stuart, Va., Mrs. Lester Mankins of Rt. 1, Stuart and Mrs. Wilma Jessup of Rt. 2, Mt. Airy; one brother, Thomas D. Hill of Rt. 3, Stuart, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at State Line Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Odell Sisk and Rev. J.K. Faries officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Cox Funeral Home until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
