OBITUARY:
Erhardt Ernst Siegmund Oestmann, son of Ottoa and Emma Stutheit Oestmann, was born on the family farm one and a half miles west of the St. Paul (Hickory Grove)Lutheran Church in Nemaha County. Nebraska, March 15, 1911 He was one of ten children born to this marriage.

He was baptized at the St. Paul (Hickory Grove)Lutheran Church on April 2, 1911 by Rev. Theodore Streng, and was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at that same church by Pastor Streng on March 28, 1926.

Erhardt recieved his schooling in the Roosevelt, Districe 26, rural school, and grew to manhood in this community where he was born. November 1, 1934 he was married to Alberta M. Stutheit at the St. Paul (Stutheit)Lutheran Church south of Johnson, NE. Three children were born to this marriage, a son dying in infancy.

From 1939 to 1942, they lived near Byron, Nebraska. They moved back to his grandfather's farm in the Johnson community, and then in 1962, they moved into the town of Johnson. All of his life, Erhardt was an active participant in church and community affairs. He served on the board of the St. Paul (Hickory Grove) Lutheran Church and also on the board of the Roosevelt rural school. He was a member of the Johnson Chamber of Commerce.

He became seriously ill in May. He last entered the Nemaha County Hospital on August 10and was trandferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln on August 14th. It was there he died early Thursday morning. August 19, 1982. He had reached the age of 71 years, 5 months and 4 days.

In addition to his parents and infant son, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are his wife, Alberta of Johnson; his two daughters, Elaine and her husband, Darold Hunnel of Jamestown, CO. and Marjorie and her husband Harvey Laflin of Tecumseh, Ne. by five grandchildren; two brothers, Norvel of Johnson and Wilbert and his wife, Marie of Auburn; one sister, Elta and her husband, Herman Bohling of Ruskin,NE. two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Junita Oestmann and Mrs. Luella Oestmann, both of Johnson, Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
