Mary Hayden Burroughs, 79, of Mechanicsville died Feb. 19, 1989 at St. Mary's Nursing Center.
Born June 24, 1909 in Loveville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Dent and Mary Priscilla Bowles Hayden, and the step-daughter of the late Alice R. Hayden.
Mrs. Burroughs was the wife of the late Henry Harvey Burroughs.
She was the mother of James Hayden Burroughs, Joseph K. Burroughs, Elliott M. Burroughs, Irma Brignet, Mary Doris Case, William M. Burroughs and the late Bernard H. Burroughs.
As well as the sister of the late Leonard Hayden, William D. Hayden, Daniel Tiffany and Elmer Hayden.
She is also survived by one stepsister, Myrtle Lee, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Prayers were said at the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown Feb. 21. The Rev. Joseph Naughton will offer mass today, Feb. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Morganza. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
