Mary Ellen Ball, 80, of Davis, died Sunday, April 16, 2000 in Garrett County Memorial Hospital at Oakland, Md.

Mrs. Ball was born July 5, 1919, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late Grandville Marcella Luzader and Sara Melvina Greenleaf.

She married Harold Stacey Ball, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are seven sons, Louis and wife, Janice Ball, Savannah, Ga., Junior and wife, Velma Lee Ball, Michael Ball, Freddie and wife, Sylvia Ball, all of Lumberton, N.C., Sterling and wife, Donna Ball, Howard and wife, Josie Ball and Ray and wife, Louise Ball, all of Davis; two daughters, Helen Kerens, Lumberton, N.C., and Rose and husband, Phillip Arbogast, Core; and a son-in-law, Perley Lawrence.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and a daughter, Edith Emanuel Lawrence.

Mrs. Ball was a homemaker.

She was affiliated with the Davis United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be at Davis United Methodist Church Wednesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Long and the Rev. J.J. Johnson officiating.

Intent will follow in the Davis Cemetery.
