Mary Kowalzek, age 77, a resident of Pierz, MN died June 10, 1993 at Walker City View Nursing Home in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held June 15 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Harding with Father Al Quade officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Mary was born July 20, 1915 in Platte Township to the late John and Annie (Swaser) Dombovy. She was united in marriage to Leo Kowalzek June 21, 1938 in Harding, MN. She worked for Hickerson's Garment Factory in Brainerd and they also farmed in Platte Township. Mary like to travel but her priority in life was always her family.
Survivors include her husband, Leo; sons, Harvey and wife Hazel of Mounds View, Lonney and wife Theresa of Pierz; daughters, Marlene Fearing of Afton, MN, Sandra Bescheinen, Mrs. Ed (Salina) Deason, both of Pierz, Mrs. Warren (Nancy) Fairbanks of Plymouth; two sisters, Helen Sporlein and Frances Hoffmann both of Chicago, IL; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; two brothers, Albert and Tony Dombovy; two sisters, Tillie Piasecki and Vernie Schromel.
Casketbearers were grandchildren of Mary.
