FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY FOR INFANT SON OF MR. AND MRS. GOLDEN MERKLEY
MAESER (Special) -- Funeral rites were held Wednesday at 11 o'clock at the ward chapel for Ralph Golden Merkley, 3 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Golden Merkley. Music was furnished by the double mixed quartet composed of Mrs. Ethelwynne Collett, Mrs. Remina Jorgensen, Mrs. Stella Thacker, Mrs. Luella Merkley, Leslie Thacker, Fred Reynolds, Allan Jones and Frank Abplanalp who sang "Beautiful Home," the ladies quartet, "Shine On" a duet, "Whispering Hope," was sung by Mrs. Merkley and Leslie Thacker.
The opening prayer was given by William Harvey and the benediction by Thomas Hall. Speakers were Davis Morrill of Tridell with Edward Bodily of Maeser Ward. Bishopric giving the closing remarks Don Merkley and Roland Merkley were pallbearers. Interment was in the Tridell Cemetery.
Little Ralph Golden Merkley became ill Friday evening and passed away Tuesday morning. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Merkley and the following brothers and sisters, Armeda, Melba, Lucille, Norma, Mary, Nell, Kenneth and DeLoy Merkley. Also one-half brother, Don Merkley who returned Monday from New York.
Among those attending from outside points were Mr. and Mrs. Bart Merkley and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. William Harvey, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Smith, Mrs. Nellie Merkley of Tridell and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bigelow of Lapoint.
