Edgar W. Sandler of Perryville, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 at Perry Oaks Healthcare Center. He was 91. He was born on Sept. 16, 1908 in Perry County, the son of the late Gottlieb and Lena M. (Dippold) Sandler. He was married on Nov. 9, 1963 in Perryville, to Marie Sandler of Perryville, who survives. Other survivors include one sister and two brothers, Elsie Brewer of St. Louis; Leroy Sandler, Perryville and Melvin Sandler, St. Mary. Mr. Sandler was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was an instructor at International Shoe Company for 28 years and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Layman League, and a charter member of the Perryville Police Auxiliary. He was a member of the American Legion in Perryville and he was an avid bowler. The family requests memorials to be made to the Immanuel Lutheran School or St. Vincent de Paul School System. Visitation will also be today Thursday, Oct. 28 from 6:30-9:30 a.m. at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville with Military Services courtesy of Perryville American Legion Post #133. Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville provided the arrangements.
