Anna MYERS McVAY, 96, a resident of Canterbury Manor Nursing Home since 1984 and formerly of 1129 Main St., died at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Hospital. She was born March 23, 1889 in Miami County to Jacob and Mary CYPHERD MYERS. On June 12, 1953, she was married to Raymond A. McVAY, who died May 30, 1978. A retired teacher, she had taught at the former Kaley School in South Bend and at the former Ernsperger, Woodrow, McKinley and Richland Center schools in Fulton County. She was a graduate of Rochester Normal College, had attended Ball State University and was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association. Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Otto (Joan) BLACKETOR, and a nephew, Bill MYERS, both of Rochester; a step-son, Robert McVAY, Rochester, N.Y.; great-nieces and -nephews; great-great-nieces, and four step-grandchildren. Two sisters, a brother and two nephews preceded in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home in Rochester with the Revs. Donald BOWMAN and F.G. KUEBLER officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, and on Friday from 9 a.m. until services.
