James F. married Elizabeth Ann Alkire November 14, 1847 in Virginia. Children were Florence Adelaide, Josephine Virginia, William Henry, John Wesley, Sarah Catherine, Isaac Newton, and Jimmie Ann. James F. was the son of Solomon Parker b.1778 Hampshire Co VA and d. 1834 at his home place-Pleasant Retreat, Springfield, Hampshire Co, VA whose wife was Sarah Wright. Family lore has it that James F. was ill, and taken to a doctor, but on the flatboat he had a seizure and fell into the water and drowned. NOTE: to date no one has ever offered any info as to whether his body was recovered or not. Most of the family re-searchers think a headstone was placed in cemetery someplace tho-prob in Lexington MO but we have not been there to check on that fact either. Elizabeth remarried to Pettis Valanie Springer abt 15 Dec 1863 Johnson Co, MO and they had 6 children between 1864 and 1873. Elizabeth was b 22 Sep 1828 Hampshire Co VA and d.17 April 1904, Prescott, Yavapai Co, AZ where they moved to at an earlier date .

The facts behind the burial of James F. Parker are not certified to my knowledge but I will try to find the true facts as soon as possible. It is known tho that he is not in two cemeteries as stated by some researchers.
