JACKSONVILLE -- Funeral services for Thomas Carroll Byas, 87, of Jacksonville are ser for 2 p.m. Saturday in Kerrville Funeral Home chapel at Kerrville.
Burial will be at Kerrville. Local arrangements are under direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Mr Byas died Tuesday morning in a local hospital after a short illness. He was a native of Hunt, a Jacksonville resident for 30 years, a retired carpenter and farmer and a World War I veteran, serving on the battleship Texas.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include four sons, Loyd Byas of Hurst, Thomas C. Byas Jr., of Santa Fe, N.M., Oliver Byas of Fresno, Calif., and Gerald Byas of Saudi Arabia; one daughter, Mrs. Pualine Gaulden of Llano; one sister, Mrs. Ver Nichols of Kerrville; and six grandchildren.
