Dorothy was 94 when she passed away at the Divine Savior Extended Care in Portage. Born to Otto & Pauline (Kluth) Klimke. She graduated from the Sunny Flats rural school and worked as a domestic for several families and later worked as a cook and waitress at restaurants.
She married Lawrence Grant on July 1949 in Coloma and they farmed together for many years and later in the 1980s they owned and operated Grant's Gas Station at the intersection of Highway 82 and I-39.
In her younger years Dorothy enjoyed going to barn dances and her favorite pastimes were listening to Lawrence Welk music, gardening, baking and tending to her pet cats. Dorothy leaves behind a son and his wife, a daughter, three grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, her brother and his wife, a sister-in-law, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin infant sons, Donald and David; brothers, Herbert, Alfred, Chester and Harold Klimke, and Fritz Getchel; sisters, Elsie Niklaus, Ethel Henke and Hilda Lashock; and a great-grandson, Devin Szczesniak.
Funeral services were held at the Oxford Presbyterian Church in Oxford with the Rev. Robert & the Rev. Dr. Mary Jo Bruinooge officiating.
