Georgia Fay Adams
April 11, 1916 - June 27, 2009

Georgia Fay "Buddie" Adams age 93 of Junction died Saturday June 27, 2009 in Junction.

Buddie was born April 11, 1916 in Leming, Atascosa County, Texas to Joe David and Bessie Mae Dear Davee.

Buddie married Preston Elba Adams in Sonora on October 30, 1933. For their honeymoon they drove a herd of goats from Camp Allison in Sutton County to the Chisos Mountains in the Big Bend on a ranch owned by Boye Babb which later became part of Big Bend National Park.

Buddie and Elba first set up housekeeping in a one-room cabin at Boot Springs and herded their goats in with the Babb herd. In 1939 Buddie and Elba in partnership with Elba's brother Ulice began buying what would become the Adams Ranch. It was on this ranch now between Big Bend Park and Black Gap Game Preserve that she and Elba raised their children and livestock and processed candelia wax which was sold to the Wrigley's company for use in chewing gum among other uses. In 1958 Buddie and Elba traded out with Ulice and acquired the old Adams home place near Camp Allison. Buddie was the last sibling of this generation in both her and Elba's family. They both had seven brothers and sisters and Buddie was the last sibling or spouse from the families to die.

Buddie was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Elba in 1985.

Buddie is survived by her five children Preston L. and wife Donna, Vina Mae Nail, Douglas J. and wife Edie, Elba Jr and wife Mary all of Junction and Fae LaRae Adams of Alpine; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and five greatgreat grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 PM to 7 PM Monday June 29, 2009 at Graham Funeral Home in Junction.
