Mr. Baker graduated from Spencer Penn High School. He was a member of the Full Gospel Baptist Church and retired from E. I. Dupont in 1986 with 38 years service as a Research and Development Technician. Mr. Baker served in the U. S. Army during WWII and served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Eunice Joyce Baker of the home; one son, Curtis Lee Baker, Jr. of Montreal, Canada; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl Belcher of Richmond, VA and Amy B. Dodson and Bill Dodson of Martinsville, VA; and step-granddaughter, Brittany R. Dodson.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with Reverend Buster Mize officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Martinsville, VA.
