Jake B. Ghelfi, 81, Genoa, died at a La Crosse hospital Tuesday morning. He is survived by his wife, Eugenia; one son, Earl of De Soto; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Delia) Fredrickson of La Crosse, Mrs. Vernon (Gertrude) Darling of New Albin, Iowa, and Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Laylan of Genoa; four brothers, John of Viroqua, Frank of La Crosse, and Albert and Joseph, both of Genoa; one sister, Miss Rose Ghelfi of Genoa; nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be Friday at 9 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, Genoa, the Rev. Nicholas Kreibich officiating. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
